No Codes

No Codes, the winner of the TD Grand Prize at the 2019 Montreal International Jazz Festival, is a jazz collective composed of four musicians and composers: Benjamin Deschamps (alto saxophone), Frank Lozano (tenor saxophone), Sébastien Pellerin (double bass), and Louis-Vincent Hamel (drums). The group stands out for the absence of harmonic instruments and the significant emphasis placed on improvisation, interaction, and dialogue among the musicians.

Following the success of the eponymous album by the group No Codes in 2018, the group is back with a new artistic proposition titled “Enigma,” which will be officially released in the autumn of 2024 under the Sunset Hill Music label. The group offers a refreshing jazz that combines bebop, free jazz, contemporary classical music, world music, and punk/metal.
