Mira Choquette

Mira Choquette’s musical odyssey, grounded in her Montreal roots, has come full circle. Her early years were steeped in the melodies of classic musicals and jazz records, and then influences she soaked up from collaborators, including a young Patrick Watson and the legendary Vic Vogel. Her career began in the early 2000’s when she joined a local big band and later met pianist Andres Vial, who catalyzed her transformation into a jazz artist.

Although she briefly strayed from her musical path to pursue law and domestic life, Mira’s passion for music ultimately reignited. She relocated to Toronto, securing residencies at jazz clubs before the pandemic disrupted live performances. Undaunted, she found herself in Mexico, where her musical journey thrived.

In May 2023, Mira released her latest album, “In Reel Time,” to critical acclaim, including a stellar 4-star review from Downbeat magazine. With linguistic talents in English, French, Spanish and Italian, she now divides her time between Canada and Mexico. Mira Choquette has rediscovered her musical purpose and is where she belongs, creating the music she was destined to share.
