Guitarist Samuel Bonnet has always felt “between two waters”. Born in Israel and raised in France, it was Montreal that allowed him to fully affirm his multiple identities and artistic colors between classical guitar and jazz.
In his 5th album, HYBRIDE, Samuel tells us his personal story through 7 tracks that form his musical puzzle. A space where sound exploration reveals its infinite possibilities! We discover “Recuerdos de Alhambra” arranged as a jazz waltz, an intimate rereading of the traditional Jewish piece “Hava Nagila”, or an original arrangement of the famous jazz standard “Night in Tunisia”.
Accompanied by outstanding musicians, this “six-strings master” (Serge Truffaut, Le Devoir) offers us a break during which the acoustic sound and the interaction between the guitar, the double bass and the drums are at the heart of the work.
