Mathieu Désy

One of Quebec’s most sought-after double bassists, Désy is celebrated for his versatility, exceptional intonation, and distinctive groove. A true virtuoso, he brings artistry and innovation to every project, elevating each ensemble with his remarkable musical and personal presence.

Holding a doctorate in double bass performance, Désy has pioneered a unique approach to “polyphonic double bass.” His mastery of the five-string double bass enables him to seamlessly blend bass lines, chords, and melodies, showcasing his remarkable artistry and innovation.

He is also a full professor at Bishop’s University.
