For Mohamed Masmoudi, Eternal Cities is the culmination of several decades of creativity, learning, and musical exchanges. His oud was rigorously refined on rich and assorted terrains. In Masmoudi’s hands, the oud is so much more than a symbol of faraway cultures; it becomes a vehicle that brings different vibrations together.
The Masmoudi Quartet includes Guillaume Martineau on piano, Rémi-Jean LeBlanc on double-bass, Gabriel Paquin-Buki on clarinet, and art director Mohamed Masmoudi on the oud. These four musicians are known for their versatility, their sensitivity, and their virtuosity, creating a colourful instrumental sound that has depth and ingenuity.
Eternal Cities is a modern quilt weaving together the atmosphere, tonalities and rhythms that have connected cultures and civilizations since the beginning of time.
