One of Quebec’s most sought-after double bassists, Désy is celebrated for his versatility, exceptional intonation, and distinctive groove. His emotional depth and ability to elevate every ensemble—both musically and personally—set him apart as a true virtuoso, making a memorable impact on every project he joins.
Holding a doctorate in double bass performance, Désy has pioneered a unique approach to “polyphonic double bass.” His mastery of the five-string double bass enables him to seamlessly blend bass lines, chords, and melodies, showcasing his remarkable artistry and innovation.
He is also a full professor at Bishop’s University.
