Gentiane Michaud Gagnon, connue professionnellement sous le nom de Gentiane MG, est une pianiste et compositrice bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al dont la musique explore la connexion humaine et l’\u00e9motion. Alliant jazz contemporain, influences classiques et sens de l\u2019image, son travail se d\u00e9ploie comme une succession de s\u00e9quences musicales po\u00e9tiques. N\u00e9e \u00e0 Jonqui\u00e8re dans le nord du Qu\u00e9bec, une r\u00e9gion caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par sa vaste nature sauvage et la solitude, la musique devient un langage fondamental d\u00e8s son plus jeune \u00e2ge, en m\u00eame temps qu\u2019un point d\u2019ancrage spirituel.<\/p>\n
Gentiane est titulaire d\u2019une ma\u00eetrise en interpr\u00e9tation jazz de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill et d\u2019un dipl\u00f4me du Conservatoire de musique et d\u2019art dramatique du Qu\u00e9bec. \u00c0 la t\u00eate de son trio, elle a sorti trois albums encens\u00e9s par la critique et tourn\u00e9 abondamment au Canada et en Europe en plus de recevoir plusieurs honneurs dont le Prix R\u00e9v\u00e9lation Radio-Canada Jazz, le Prix Fran\u00e7ois Marcaurelle, les Prix OPUS de la D\u00e9couverte de l\u2019ann\u00e9e et de l\u2019Album jazz de l\u2019ann\u00e9e, ainsi que des nominations aux prix ADISQ et JUNO.
