Taurey Butler

Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Taurey Butler began studying piano at the age of 7. However, he didn’t find is his passion for jazz until his senior year in high school when his band director handed him a solo piano recording of Oscar Peterson. Once he listened to the recording, he knew jazz would be in his life forever. Taurey has performed all over the world in different venues and festivals. Some of which include The Blue Note NYC, the Detroit Jazz Festival, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, the JVC Jazz Festival. His astounding talent has also allowed him to perform with many renowned artists. This list includes Eldee Young, Ernie Watts, Remi Bolduc, Carmen Bradford, Ranee Lee, Bobby Durham, Dave Valentin, Ralph Peterson, Kim Plainfield, and Pucho and His Latin Soul Brothers. Taurey will release the follow up to his critically acclaimed debut album on the Justin Time Inc. record label in 2022
